Just an opinion, perhaps use that money towards a good set of tyres in the future or towards the next car. It's not a good use of cash for an aging car on alloys

Lol, yes. I don't think many people pay attention to other vehicle's wheels. If they even pay attention to other people's vehicles at all.

I don't think there's any point spending money on 'bling' for a vehicle. No-one is impressed.

You do whatever you want. It’s your car after all. If you do go for wheels choose wisely. I always think it’s better to go for something that is period correct as it always sets off the car much better. However, you go for whatever you think looks best on your car. It’s you that drives it not anyone else.

You can look up your car on here:

https://www.wheel-size.com/size/toyota/corolla/1998/

It'll give you the rim specs for your car - You can use that to find suitable sized-wheels; Just make sure the specs match.

I think you're right that Mk1 and Mk2 Yaris rims should fit tho' - IIRC I got a set of Corolla steels from a breakers yard when I was getting the alloys refurbed (They had the classic Mk1 Yaris surface peel problem) and they fit okay with the same tyres.
