Good afternoon everybody,  I have a 1.3 manual transmission IQ.  I have recently had the engine management light on,  a quick scan revealed bank 1 sensor 2 showing high voltage.

I have narrowed it down to 2 part numbers of which I’m not aware which one goes before the catalytic converter.  Here are the part numbers

89465-74010

89465-74020

If anybody could help it would be appreciated thanks.

Thanks for the information,  so these 2 are downstream sensors,  don’t want to order wrong one.  Just waiting for some tools so I can get out the sensor and look at the part number.

This one doesn’t look like the one I’m replacing it has some kind of shield mid way through the cable.

This one looks correct,  thanks

89465-74020

05/2010 onwards

both sensors cross to each other on the aftermarket

eg. Blueprint ADT370105

Thanks flash22,  mine is a 2010 with the brown interior,  with your knowledge what would you recommend aftermarket or original.  Without me pulling the sensor out is it difficult to find out which original I need,  I’m assuming aftermarket that does not matter?  Thanks in advance

As I said above the blueprint references both types for the 1.3, cost wise it's about 70-80 cheaper than oem

OEM for Toyota is either Bosch, Denso, or NTK (A NGK brand), iq being Japanese built it's one of the latter 2, Denso does not list a sensor for the 1.3 IQ

NTK - OZA803-EE1 or 91025

Hi Mo,

Did you get this part changed and did it throw up other codes?

I found the engine management light came on, the VSC off is flashing along with the light on for the traction control. The car still appear to drive and handle perfectly normal just now.

I've looked at a few videos on-line, some saying the petrol cap can be the issue, others the Battery is low. I've checked the Battery which is fine, the filler cap looks fine.

Scanning the OBD I'm getting  few codes which I suspect are causing the issue?

Engine issue: Oxygen sensor heater control circuit low (Bank 1 sensor 2) code P0037. Would it be the logical route to replace this part? And the location on the engine this is found?

I've also got the C1201 code, Brake boost sensor circuit range, performance, engine control system, ev control system malfunction.

The video I watched about the C1201 code states there is normally something else causing this to kick in. Would it likely be the Oxygen sensor that's the problem and it's causing the three lights of panic?

Thanks guys.

Hi Ecto

I had po138 code show up and all 3 lights you mention come on, this was relating to downstream sensor bank 1 sensor 2.

I decided to change the sensor for an aftermarket ngk,  ordered from a company call ml performance has it was in stock only to be told it’s not in stock and will come some time in April.

Cancelled from ml performance ordered from another company and a similar outcome,  this got me thinking nobody has the part in stock and it will be on back order apart from buying genuine.

I searched the part number and found an excellent company called YAM6 had it in stock or I think they order from Toyota and resell.
Price from YAM6 was £131.99 and Toyota £172.

Part arrived and I replaced immediately cleared the code and went for a test run and to my surprise light came on again.

After a little research on Toyota Prius forum, if bank 1 sensor 1 known has the AF sensor is bad it might trigger the other sensor.

Now I’m trying to source the AF sensor and Toyota want £232 for that,  Toyota cars are funny with aftermarket sensors.

My car is used has a second car so I’m trying to source the part from Amayama based in Japan,  has the part is £102 including delivery.

This is how it stands at the moment,  2 years of trouble free motoring and in the last 3 months many issues with the car.

Ac not working,  fixing it with adding a circuit I bought from eBay and soldering it to the ac ecu.

Leaks in the footwell and the in boot,  various things done all mentioned in this forum.  Still driving around with carpets up, looking for leaks.

Window regulator went on driver side, fixed that.  Passenger side is on its way out now,  another job.

I do the jobs myself and would not recommend anybody buying one of these cars unless you’re going to work on it yourself.

There reliable but due to age many things will go wrong and parts are becoming difficult to get at good prices,  you have to consider what the cars worth and how much to put right.

Im already committed to sorting it out,  in hindsight I would have sold the car.

When I get the sensor I’ll let you know if it sorts it out, just hope it’s not the Catalytic Converter.

My car is 1.3 and I’m the second owner,  it has 56k mileage.  It has every extra available apart from the auto transmission I think.

I use it for short runs,  I’m convinced this kills sensors and other engine related things due to carbon buildup.

Hi all, got the sensor (89465-74030) from Amayama.   Replaced cleared code all good working has should, part was genuine and £102 compared with £240 for Toyota parts direct that’s a £138 saving.

My faults code was po138 that indicates b1s2, which I replaced first.

High chance that the first sensor was good.

After getting the clutch replaced a couple of weeks ago. The dash lit up with vsc and engine warning lights.  Diagnosis said 02 sensors.

The bottom O2 sensor was taken out... It wasn't in a good state...
