Auris tailgate microswitch broken?

I can't open my tailgate anymore. The microswitch of tailgate doesn't react but the lock is not freezed (I live in Finland, there is minus 20 degrees at the moment).

Is there any way to confirm that the fault is in a broken microswitch? And if the switch is broken, is it easy to fix by myself?

Switch should be easy enough to replace. But it may not be the issue, eg could be broken wire in hatch conduit harness.

If its cheap enough to replace, try it.

I think its a 3 wire connection. Common ground and one for unlock button, and other for lock tailgate button (see handbook).

You can always try jumping a wire in the connector to act as the switch.

Also try Leaving hatch open and try locking car. Feel the latch to see if it locks, and auto unlocks.
