Excessive oil consumption 2AZ-FXE

Hello all, it is normal for me now to top up my engine oil in my 2012 Estima 2.4L petrol with 5w30 with 91k miles on it now i have it 2.5 years and love it.. i am aware of engine oil leaking at the piston rings into the combustion chamber on this particular model engine 2AZ-FXE and if im topping it up every 4 months with 1L it doesn't bother me but my question is this... Do i have  long term concerns to worry about the longevity of my car engine or will it be fine please guys ?

From the point of view of burning oil and producing smoke from the tailpipe. That could, if it gets to a point become an mot fail. Using a slightly thicker oil can help a bit say a 10w30. Alternatively doing a ring re-new and glaze bust on the bores could give you some more life from the engine.

I was a bit surprised to hear this is a thing on the old 2.4 Camry engine, thought they were bomb proof.

Shocked myself as i thought they were untouchable in reliability engine wise but it appears to be a flaw..  correction of this i would imagine is costly so ill most probably only top up the oil unless i got good quote on price...thanks so much for your response

Mine uses a bit of oil too. Not a vast amount, less than half a litre every couple of months maybe only 250 ml. This is the first car I've had for many years that uses any in between services but it's not a huge amount and it doesn't seem to smoke

Thanks for your reply,Is yours a 2.4L estima same model engine too ? Around same year 2012.. yeah i dont mind the topping up i would say half liter every 4 months approx.. not smokey so maybe its no concern but wanted to know if this is something i need to resolve

Good to know, so I will keep a better eye on mine.
