Map Update issue

Is there a reason why when I try to update the maps via the infotainment it states map update problem and to contact the dealer ? I still have version 1 and had the car from new

What this message apparently means is that there is no update and that all necessary map updates are delivered OTA. The base mapping is just there to cope when the radio signal is lost. There are a couple of long threads on the topic.
