TomTom setup

My auris icon did not come with satnav as standard. I decided not to upgrade the head unit due to unsupported/dodgy map updates and cost of the upgrade. I also decides against the android route due to the nest of wires, modules and adapters to integrate with the steering controls

This left me with the TomTom standalone option. I needed it to be easily mounted when needed.

I have an OCD with trailing wires, so I ran a 12v to usb adapter from the rear of the cigarette lighter with usb socket outlet beneath the glovebox.

The TomTom unit lives in the glovebox and can be easily mounted with suction adapter to the front fascia panel when needed.

The USB cable runs from the TomTom, behind glovebox to usb socket below. The glovebox can still be closed .Quite a neat setup. It does obscure the clock, but TomTom displays its own clock.

Hope this helps anybody else with their tomtom setup.
