Toyota Yaris Windscreen Washer

Hello,

I would like some help with a windshield washer.

I have a Toyota Yaris 2017 car, the engine code is 2NR-FKE. There is 1 large wiper blade on the front windshield. The wiper blade has the washer nozzle on it. When the outside temperature is below 0 degrees, the liquid comes out of the nozzle with a much lower pressure, so only the dirt is smeared by the wiper blade. I have tried at least 6 types of windshield washer fluid but they all do the same thing. Some were good down to -40 degrees. Is this 1-nozzle solution that bad, or could there be another problem? Even though I put it on, when the temperature rises, it washes the car next to me. I bought the car new and it did the same thing even then.

Thanks for your help!

Are you using concentrate fluid? If so, are you diluting using tap water?

Tap water has minerals, which could clog it over time. There is a reason why tap water should be used to dilute wiper fluid and coolant. They do damage in both situations, but I would say that it does more damage when mixed with coolant and used over a couple of years.

Try to stick something sharp down the hole and ensure it is not blocked. There are some tools out there for that: WASHER JET TOOL (CD) | Halfords UK (cheaper on eBay or Amazon)

The pressure shouldn't be affected by the temperature. On my Yaris, I get a constant flow at negative and favourable temperatures.

If you get the same pressure throughout the year, perhaps your pump might not work as it should.
