Well, I've been using the BZ4X for six months now and I'd like to share this feedback and find out if any of you have the same analysis or if there are any differences.
The BZ4X's claimed range is 503 km at 100%.
With all the loading I've done so far, I've got 310 km at 82%, so I've calculated its potential at 378 km, a long way from what was promised!
Then, in "normal" operation, the 310 km available would be reduced to 270 km, so as not to reach 100% Battery usage and therefore run out of fuel.
My biggest disappointment comes from this fact, even if in a previous analysis I didn't believe in the announced range, I imagined in my wildest dreams that an acceptable range could be 400 km. This has proved to be the case, so we're a long way from a satisfactory range, especially when we add the malfunctions of the chargers, which don't make our lives as users any easier.
An additional remark on the observations I've made in use, on regular driving at 120 km/h on freeways, consumption is surprisingly different, without identifying the cause, or reaching 15 kw/100 km instead of 11 kw/100 km. Any ideas would be most welcome.

A new post to follow up on my BZ4x expérience

Since I started using this vehicle, I had never charged it to 100%. The findings in terms of range are strange and I wanted to charge to 100% to see the range displayed. A big surprise when I saw that the maximum range displayed (yet to be seen in real life) is 3.78 km!!!

My sense of disappointment is increasingly obvious. As a reminder, Toyota's announcement for this vehicle was 503 KM of 100% range. If I take into account 90% hidden protection, we should be at least at 450 KM, but here we are at 75%. Where does this situation come from?

I don't want to compare with other vehicles, as each manufacturer uses different operating modes.

I'm simply looking at the difference between what Toyota says and what actually happens.

So I don't know whether I'm at odds with the electric vehicle or with Toyota. The question is open and the question is what I'm going to do about it now and in the future. How long am I going to accept this situation where it's very complicated to use a vehicle that doesn't give any viability on a journey with certainties.

I have never got close to either the advertised range or the charging speeds.

Mine is a company vehicle and I regularly choose to use my own car in winter and on long journeys to avoid too much disappointment. Fortunately I can claim mileage back simply by proving this was a more suitable choice of vehicle.

I cant wait to get rid of it but still have 18 months left

During the coldest weeks this winter, I was getting 260 miles indicated on a full charge (with A/C). Last summer I was getting 305 miles. For my use, this is more than adequate, and I rarely need to charge up more than once a week.

503km is 314 miles which is about Toyota's number for the 2WD whereas you have the AWD which is a fair bit less. Your 378km is 236 miles which is about what I get if I avoid motorway speeds and keep the air con off, both of which can be problematic. I thought we all knew before we acquired our EV's that we would get considerably less than the quoted figures with real life driving?

Hello Stephen,

Of course I didn't take the advertisements on the sales literature as a commitment. This being the case, the observations versus the advertisements are very different, which leads me to say that there is misleading advertising. A 100% charge at 378 km versus 503 km as advertised is not acceptable. All the more so since, in my experience, true range is calculated between the range displayed on the car's dial minus 50 km, because below that there's a risk of running out of fuel. I also took feedback from friends who had acquired an EV some time ago so I was prepared for these situations, but in the case of the BZ4x it's very disappointing and you have to admit it otherwise Toyota won't progress in this area.

In any case, thank you for your reaction.

Yves
