Do they stay on when the lights are on or is it only when opening the doors?

Have asked toyotapartsdirect they said the system won’t allow them to order them for my car.
spoken to my local dealer and they have said quote “Our parts team have confirmed this is not an option on your car. so can’t help you.”

quote the part number without a reg, I take it you have checked for the plug/wiring that may be tucked up out of the way it's only on the mid - higher spec models

there are also copies of them on ali-express

alternate part No. 81080 - 22040

I have fitted many items not meant for a specific model/reg/vin and helped members on here with the likes of adding cruise control - see the link above it can be done

I have emailed them back moaning that I should be able to order any part for any car. so shes referred me to someone else.

I have a 2016 Yaris Hybrid Icon.
I've checked on the passenger side footwell and theres the slot the led goes and I have found the spare wire with the 2 hole connector.

It was never a UK option or an item in the spec for UK cars, not even the Excel with the premium pack what's about the highest spec for the first facelift

Apart from the footwell lights, are there any other OEM locations ambient lights could/can be added. As per the link above I added the MK4 ones to our MK3 Hybrid, effective and quite a cheap addition. Spent more time looking for the passenger side connector than actually fitting the unit.

I still have my Ford Focus and just bought recently equivelent footwell lights off AliExpress for it for £8 odd delivered for the pair and fitted perfectly when Ford wanted £44.53 per side.

I fitted LED strips and they come on bright when the doors open and fade 50% during driving.

Also fitted LED to centre cubby. Note, iPhone camera (any camera) don't take good photos of LED'S. In practice, they are not "in your face" like a photo will show.

Did you wire your leds to the ambient light wires?

Yes, spliced into existing wiring found under the panels.  There were two per side but I just chose one each side.  I did at first just stick the wires from the LED leads into the existing sockets, but they wouldn't stay in.

Pic just taken
