I noticed my dipped headlights on both sides were not working anymore, while the full beam and city lights were still working.

It's a 2006 Toyota aygo left-hand drive. No fuses appear to be blown. The bulbs seem fine. I viewed some other topic on this forum and came to the conclusion this is either a relay problem or a stalk problem. I think it is this relay, Relay box -> R4 (https://fuse-box.info/toyota/toyota-aygo-ab10-2005-2014-fuses-and-relay/amp - all the way at the bottom).

Am I right to think the above? If so, on this same page (Fuse box location -> Left-hand drive vehicles) I found that this relay box is under the dashboard (is that correct?). Is it worth doing this myself or should I just drop it off at the mechanic?

This is my first car so I'm not really knowledgeable on these topics, any help is greatly appreciated. I do have a multimeter to perform tests.

Do you get a low-beam light on the dash ? Does your interior light work ? check the 15A dome fuse

Do you have daytime running lights ? (2 lights in the black grille at the bottom of the bumper) is this what you mean by "city lights"?

First of all thanks for taking the time to reply.

The low-beam light symbol does not light up on the dash.
The interior light works. I tested the 15A dome fuse with a multi-meter on the continuity mode and it showed no faults.
The two lights underneath the plate are working (These are the daytime running lights you are referring to in the last sentence I think?)
Upon more searching the lights I called 'city lights' are called side-light-indicators/parking-lights. What I mean are the lights that turn on when using the first selection on the light stalk (0 being lights off, 2 being low-beam headlight).

Thanks again

ah ok they are your sidelights

The two lights underneath the plate are working (These are the daytime running lights you are referring to in the last sentence I think?) - I was referring to the front bumper lower grille

It sounds like you have 2 blown bulbs, more than likely 1 failed and you didn't notice until the 2nd one died

As you do not have Daytime running lights you do not have a relay, it is all controlled by the stalk itself these can die with age/use

Ah okay thanks again. What you are saying seems to make a lot of sense.

I have tried put in new bulbs but that did nothing. So it's probably the stalks?

possibly it is the stalk, but it does mean you have to remove the airbag and steering wheel

there are plenty of videos on YouTube if you search aygo indicator stalk replacement
