Hybrid Engine generations clarification

Hello all, I'm looking to buy a used Toyota and I've watched several videos with reviews and performance. A mechanic on youtube (the car care nut) says to generally avoid the first 2 generations of hybrid engines as they came with a lot of problems. Some models from the 3rd generation also had some issues. I found the attached table online and I have a few questions before I decide which car to purchase.

- Which is more important; the engine generation or the year the car was produced? "The car care nut" says that everything after 2016 should be fine.

- Do all pre-2019 Yaris use 2nd generation engines and does that cause any issues? They seem pretty reliable according to most reviews.

- Auris cars are only 1-2k € more expensive than Yaris in my country, so I'm thinking to buy one of these. I like the stronger engine, ps, torque, trunk size compared to Yaris. Any reason to avoid them?

- In the attached table, the 5th gen Corolla comes with 2 engines. The 1.8l engine has the same code/name as the 3rd gen engines. Is only the 2.0l one considered 5th gen?

Thank you for reading this and apologies for any misconceptions, I'm very inexperienced when it comes to cars.

Yaris and auris hybrids have no major issue of any sort in any generations AFAIK. Auris get a cat loc for it.

The 1.8 and 2.0 in gen5 has higher power output than gen4. Maybe the engines are the same, the electric motor are bigger.

I must admit I'm not aware of any major issues with any of the hybrids - They all tend to rank near the top of reliability surveys.

TBH as long as you get ones that's been looked after and has been regularly serviced on time, you can't really go wrong.

The new ones are much more engaging to drive, but in terms of reliability any of them should be okay, although the newer the better.
