Toyota Yaris Xp210 Passager Window Switches Illuminate

Recommended Posts

Hi

Does anyone know if the Yaris excel/gr model passages windows switches illuminate up as we have a dynamic model & only the driver side lights up.

Can't see the switches at night.

I want to change them to light up ones.

There is only one switch ... why do you need to see it?

Driver's side where there are a few I can understand illumination.

(Mine is a Mk3 Excel, so I can't speak to yours being normal or not - sorry.)

No, it doesn’t…. (Checked this morning).

it may be doable as they tend to share parts across models

I used an Auris switch in my mk3, but it's not plug and play

i can look up part numbers for the Mk4 and see if we can't find a suitable illuminated switch

Stuck some reflective stickers on the switches, not perfect, but saves fumbling in the dark.

I've just bought a load of stuff on Aliexpress for mods to the Yaris (which I will document for you all) but have added this to the pile of bits to fit.

Drivers unit, all switches illuminated, three replacement passenger door switches. NOTE make sure if you order that you get the RHD version. I ordered RHD with chrome "tips" on the switches.

£50 Inc tax and delivery

@jthspace Are they a straight 'drop in' fitment Jeff, or is additional work required?

As far as the vid shows, it looks like a straight drop in; pop old one out, three screws to remove from trim,  disconnect wires, attach to new switch module, reattach to trim and pop back in.

Looks like switch module fits a number of different Toyota models.  I'll take some pics when I install.

Thanks for that Jeff. When you get round to doing it, your experiences would be appreciated. 👍

did you confirm the correct connector type, also be aware the window uses a LIN  bus system and you may not have the illumination wiring in the doors

We'll see in a couple of weeks when they arrive.

Hi All,

Bought this set on AliExpress and managed to change the switches on the passengers doors in the back easily. Pop out the plastic bit holding the switch with a plastic tool, carefully take out the original switch and replace it with the new one. Then attach the new cable extension to the original cable and push the plug into the switch. Push and click the plastic bit back into place and check if the light is lit and if the switch is working by opening the window all the way down and back up again.

Changing the front door switches poses a bit of a challenge for me. I can get the plastic bit holding the switch loose on the side facing the steering wheel, but the side on the door is stuck. There's hardly no space to get a plastic tool in. I tried moving the plastic bit around, but stopped as I didn't want to risk damaging it.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?

Added some pics of the passenger doors in the back, before/after and the front door driver side.

Sitting in the driver's seat, pop the front end up with a trim tool (red arrow) continue along the line (green arrow) you can get your fingers under the trim and lift as you lift the trim it hinges out on the back clips

the switch is held to the trim with 3 screws

pic's for reference

@flash22 Thanks for this pic! I managed to replace the switches on both front doors and it didn't take much time...
