With the increasing conflict in the Middle East causing disruption to world trade any Japan built cars could be in short supply this year.

As is the Yaris. The Aygo X is built in the Czech Republic and the Corolla is made in Derby.

Think that covers most of UK sales.

Do the countries that build these models not rely on many parts being shipped in from Japan etc. Many build them in-house but do not actually manufacture the parts themselves.

That used to happen when the Japanese began producing in other countries (the Triumph Acclaim is a good example) but they have supply chains far closer to assembly these days. A company near where I worked did Toyota seats. Pretty sure that most (if not all) of our 2 Micras were UK sourced and built but I suspect that some of our Note did come from Japan.

That makes sense for a very low volume specialist car. Not worth tooling up multiple assembly plants.
