Hi everyone,

I really find this site interesting and believe that there are a lot of you out there who are really keen and know what they're saying.

For the past 4 months I've been trying to resuscitate an MRspyder 2001 (latest version) which unfortunately had been covered with over one meter of rain water, mud etc. Yes a really disaster after a heavy storm. Now after a long period of cleaning, the car looks like once again but there seems to be some electronic problems. The engine like indicator(yellow) on the dash is on and the gas pedal does not respond properly. If anyone thinks where I can start from, I'll be glad and really appreciate. Bare in mind that the Toyota Agent here in Malta does not offer service to imported cars from Japan.

Thanks to everyone

If the mk3 has an OBD plug you may be able to interrogate the ECU which will tell you why the engine management light is on. It will most likely be because one of the sensors that control the engine has failed. Have a look at this site http://www.off-road.com/toyota/tech/codes/

It should give you some idea of what you are looking for. Even though your dealer wont look at imports they will be able to tell you if the car has an OBD connector and where it will be located on the car. Good luck.
