Steering wheel and ECU??

Hi,

I would like to ask you for help please.

I have an Avensis T25 2005 1.8 VVTI.

I had a scary experience with the steering wheel and the computer on board.

At low speed 🥲 sometimes the power steering intermittently goes heavy, then rights itself AND the screen in the middle of the board ( with speed, mileage ... ) goes off for a few

second as well.

I have bought an OBDII device : no error or failure found.

The Battery is OK and I think the charging too ( 12.5 V and 14.4 V )

Thank you very much for reading and if you have any ideas please could you share it.

Sorry for the bad English.

Is those electric power steering if they are then the electric power steering pump is going out .as this happened to my wife's little VW car and we'll was not cheap I couldn't understand why it went out because I stripped it and it looked like was nothing wrong with it but had to been as I got a new one and working great since unless it's the wires going into the electric power steering pump. Always a pain that when HAPPENDS as it's a expensive fix I like the fan belt power steering pump not the electric one

The 1.8 T25 uses electric PAS I gather. The fact that the centre screen is going off too suggests it might be a voltage drop caused by something relatively simple like corroded Battery terminals or earth strap perhaps?

Thank you very much. I think I have to take it to the local Toyota garage. I do a little mechanic but the electricity is not really my thing. Thank you again.
