Engine cuts out when driving

Would any know of the price to repair this fault.  The car is only worth £2,000.    Would it be a major fault I think is my question   

“Toyota Aygo 2 tronic gearbox warning light - Fixed lighting of this warning
light, with the engine running, indicates a malfunction of the 2 Tronic gearbox.”

this is what I was given by the garage that could not help with the repair. 

Ive been told that the actuator or perhaps the clutch 

been quoted around £1000

 

any thoughts would be appreciated
