firsly this is the celica forum and you own a carina. from cold a celica spins at 1700 to 2000 rpm , then drops to the 850 mark ,perfectly normal.if its running high now, take off the earth lead or take out the EFI fuses , this should correct the ecu and return to normal.

Yes sorry but there is no carina topic.

And the engine is the same as the celica engine.

i did what you saying ,but no results.

And the ecu didn't give a trouble code!(before resetting)

the timing belt is not jumped a tooth.

I have clean the throttle body ,it was dirty YES,but the problem is still there.

I try to tune up the idle but the adjust screw is already on the bottom(to his end), so i can't get the idle lower with the adjust screw .

And i checked the isc valve but thats good.

And the air intake temp. sensor is also good.

:help::help:

try !Removed! the throttle cable back as far as it will go , my celica idles erratic at times , then some days it runs sweet as can be.

maybe the oxygen sensor has seen its day , mind boggles.

try unplugging the sensors on the throttle body 1 at a time until the revs die down , i think its the cold start thats jammed on or broken ,on mine its the one on the right of 2 ( blue multi plug )

!Removed! hell I’ am very good humored YES!!

And as first i want to thank you ,with sharing

You’re own experience and science !

i have affected the problem, it’s the vacuum valve of the power steering. It's under the engine on the

right side of the car.

i will post under the massage a couple of pictures from the problem i had.

Maybe i can help someone with this in the future, having the same problem's as me.

It cost me a month to find it.......

Here it’s broken

And here it’s fixed
