2010 Avensis Drive Shaft

Hi all

I have a 2010 Avensis (2.2 Automatic).

Drive shaft has corroded and snapped. Garage is asking for shy of £1200 for the repair (labour, some gearbox oil, sort out the fault codes etc)...

The quoted cost is high due to the part itself coming from Toyota, who are asking along the lines of £700+ vat.

This garage has been good to me in the past, but have said they can't get an aftermarket part.

I've had a look and found some between 100 and 250 but generally out of stock everywhere.

Can anyone suggest where I might source one for a fair price? I've tried euro carparts, eBay etc, without much luck.

Thanks

I had the NSF drive shaft snap on my 2009 2.0D manual Verso just before Christmas. The RAC took me to a local garage where I paid a very reasonable £626 (inc VAT) to have both sides replaced (I thought if one had snapped then the other may also go at some point in the future). The shafts cost around £210 each and they got and fitted them that day. Sorry this doesn't help you as I don't know where they got them from - but they were obviously aftermarket ones.

Have you tried looking on the Autodoc site? https://www.autodoc.co.uk/spares-search?makerId=111&modelId=8008&carId=30884&keyword=Drive+shafts

The only problem is the delivery time, and the driveshafts are of good quality and fit properly!

Thanks

I've tried autodoc but they don't have anything for front passenger.

Ive possibly found something on J and R CV joints so will give them a call.
