Nearly an Owner

Hi, I've been looking at the BZ4X for quite some time and really like the look of the car, not so sure on the tech through. I'm used to EV's so I know plenty (about the EV's we have), but I've a few questions that actual owners might brief me on

- Does the BZ4X pre-condition the Battery for more efficient charging?

- Has the Range issue been resolved i.e. has numbers increased? This was to be rectified by summer'23, so I assume new vehicles now would have it fixed

- Is there a factory / dealer integrated Dashcam available, not the bolt on after market type? I've seen it on a Toyota website, but its not listed as available for the BZ4X 

- There was chatter on forums that the 2024 version has some Battery enhancements, if I took delivery soon of a vehicle would it be 2023 or 2024 build? Sure I will ask the Sales person, but my experience, I usually know a little more

- Are OTA updates happening now, if so is this just purely for SatNav?

- Are the Maps Toyota's or are they Google's?

- Is Apple Carplay connection wifi or cable?

Same. Ordered 2 days ago, promised on Feb 6.

As far I have this info from dealer and multiple places:
Yes you can preheat Battery driving by car navigation and adding charging stop. Tho theres many reports that in lower temperatures (prob way below zero) is very poor preheating and as result charging start poorly.
Range issue been resolved, reported by user in several months stat.
Dashcam no idea, I doubt it.
OTA updates April and September.
Maps are Toytota`s, but look like Google`s.
Apple Carplay been promised to me as wireless.

This is my experience after 14 months of ownership

- Does the BZ4X pre-condition the Battery for more efficient charging? - If it does, it doesn't do it very well. Cold weather charging is abysmal

- Has the Range issue been resolved i.e. has numbers increased? This was to be rectified by summer'23, so I assume new vehicles now would have it fixed - Yes the numbers have increased but it is nothing to get excited about. On AWD motion it is about 12 miles more range

- Is there a factory / dealer integrated Dashcam available, not the bolt on after market type? I've seen it on a Toyota website, but its not listed as available for the BZ4X - No idea sorry

- Are the Maps Toyota's or are they Google's? - After charging and range this is the weakest point of the car. I don't know who underpins the maps but they are very out of date. One place I visit moved 4 years ago. It is in the right place on google maps but still at the old address on the Toyota system. Google maps via android is also very unstable and on any journey over 20mins the android auto will disconnect and force me to try and reconnect it. No amount of updates have resolved this

- Is Apple Carplay connection wifi or cable? - I have been told wireless but the only Apple I have ever had is the edible type
