Picking up the new car today (RAV4 PHEV) 😀 What mileage did your car have when you bought your last new car?

Well, some small numbers like up to around 20 miles.

Unless it was driven from another dealer 200 miles away. That happened for me once.

About 9 miles ... I collected the car from the dealer, drove 25 miles to my local filing station and filled the tank (it didn't have much in the tank on delivery) recording that fill at 34 miles. So around 9 miles.

The app shows mine has arrived at the dealership yesterday too - 7 miles on the clock

Quite acceptable I would say.

Mine was similar. The pound was a mile down the hill, it had a very short local run, and on the day of collection they took it down town again to Sainsbury for fuel.

Up to about 50 miles. Normally far less.

6 miles when I collected my C-HR

Had a brand new loan Corsa a couple of years back with 7 miles on it.

One thing a fiat dealer told me long time ago, around 2000 - 2005 : they were able to reset the counter to 0 but just ONE TIME. There was a maximum mileage to do so .. I think 200 km or something like that.

I would say upto 10 miles is fair. It of course depends on where the car is built. It was interesting following the car journey from build but there are events like

- test drive out of factory

- drive onto ship

- drive off ship

- drive onto loader truck

- drive off loader truck and into storage

- out of storage onto loader

- dealership drive to add fuel

Under 10 is normal, however some dealers have prep centres off site where cars have a PDI and accessories fitted. Ours is a mile off site, the fuel station is another mile away, so anything under 20 is normal

I've had rental cars with < 10 miles on the odometer.

My dealer says no more than 22 should be normal when I queried my last Prius order.
it does depend on where it is manufactured though, and how much travelling the car need pre dealer onto transport / storage yard.

mine arrived with 7 on the clock

Picked up our pre registered yaris cross last Friday with 11miles on the clock, 5 months ago bought a pre registered  yaris and that had 8 miles on the clock.

413 miles but it was delivered to me from Leeds via another city that I can't remember.

Not complaining as I saved £7000 on the deal and it was a factory order. Could have had it trailered down but it was rather expensive.

There is something really cool about having a single digit odometer reading, as short as that lasts... (My first run in mine took the car over 100 miles right off the bat  )

Mine had 11Kms, (7 miles), on when I picked it up. The previous Corolla had 16kms, (10 miles), on the clock.

10 on mine when I picked it up at the dealers.

I once got a new Avensis from a dealer around 50 miles away, they said that they would deliver it to my driveway, it arrived with 70 miles on the clock and a stone chip the size of a 10p piece on the front of the bonnet, I swore I’d never have one delivered again unless it was on the back of a trailer.

Ack, did they at least offer to repair it?! Surely that wasn't an acceptable state of delivery!!
