hi all

has anyone encountered this? when i switch on the car the seat belt sign flashes. with no one in the passenger seat, it continues to flash. as i move off it then sounds the warning (like the passenger didn't buckle their seat belt) how do i resolve this?

thanks

? Wrong section as your profile says Avensis 2002?

If a Yaris, then have you put anything on the seat, a bag etc?  I've put a laptop bag on the rear seat and it sometimes complains. If the seat is empty, then as a temp fix connect the seat belt and have the dealer take a look (possibly under warranty).

make sure there is nothing wedged under the seat and the jack is secure

hi, yes, i just checked for any obstructions. i moved the seat back and forth and checked under the seat to see if there was anything. i also made sure the electric clips were seated in properly. i turned engine on and seat belt sign didn't come on! weird!! i'll have to monitor it

Just put something heavy on the seat when you go for an MOT (M-I-L).
