Rear sticking caliper

Hi all, I replaced both my rear calipers last year with comline ones.

Recently, I've noticed a drag on the car when getting going after having being parked. It's been getting worse and yesterday I was able to detect it was the rear drivers side with the heat coming from it after a short journey. Other times it would be fine.

At first I thought it may be the caliper but then on the return journey after say 30 minutes. It was far better. Which then got me thinking maybe the handbrake is not releasing properly.

Going to drive it for a few days without applying the handbrake.

Am I looking at the dreaded actuator problem, although it was only on one side, or is it more likely the caliper.

Check brake caliber guide pins maybe need grease.

Good product is ATE plastilube.

Thanks for this but I think it's the handbrake. When I don't use it, there's no issue.

Hi all, if one side is sticking, aka the hand brake is not releasing properly. Could this be a cable issue or am I looking at the dreaded actuator failure problem. Currently, if I engage and release the handbrake, it will release properly after one or two attempts.

Got the handbrake warning lights on the dash now so yep. Looks like the epb is the issue. There are a few threads on here about that so will close this one.

It wasn't the epb, it was the calipers not releasing, the mechanical component.
