Hi ive got a yaris 1.3 auto 2006 petrol.

so recently after filling up my car started to judder when trying to go at traffic lights even when id press the accelerator it would seem like it would just about stall but would carry on driving normally after.

the day after i was driving it and come to a set of lights as soon as i braked the car would stall and turn off and id have to start the car again. It kept happening.

i realised if i put it neutral and pressed the gas slightly it would not cut out. However today when parking up it cut off and would no longer start. Before cutting off it was juddering and completely shut off.

any help really need it

I think you need to talk to a mechanic and be prepared for bad news... It's clearly something wrong with the engine and most of those sorts of problems are too expensive to fix, especially on a 2006 car...

As it was straight after refuelling, could there have been the wrong fuel or bad fuel?

But you need a diagnosis using live data and fault code scans to see what's going on, you might get info via a bluetooth app, otherwise a good professional scan tool or Tech stream. Anything else is just wild guesses

Misfuel would be my guess, easy to check too without expense

First check your receipt, make sure you didn't put in the wrong fuel.

It could be there was some contamination in the fuel - Not the first time such a thing has happened; You could get someone to drain the tank and put in fresh fuel but that's a chunk of money wasted.

Might be something bizarre like a coincidental fuel pump problem, or a blockage/restriction in a fuel line.

I have misfuelled twice but petrol into diesel.  The performance was as you described.  I thought diesel into petrol was much harder to achieve given different nozzle sizes.

Today I always check the nozzle is in the correct pump and, once picked out, the price and fuel is as I want

after filling up

Was this a fill from near empty to full or just adding some to a half empty tank?

The latter case I'd suspect you've put diesel in by mistake. In the former I wouldn't think it would have kept going as long as it did if you'd filled it with diesel.

It could be any number of issues - it's a mk2 mmt auto, contaminated fuel ? But if it revs in neutral

on the other hand, it's an MMT auto, stall and judder are common issues

I would start with checking the Battery and alternator, low voltage will play havoc
