But...I thought that you were unsure as to what you had ordered?

I would never buy from your dealer...if you don't believe him....there are plenty of other dealers who will take your money...with a smile and a believable description of your ordered car.

I was unsure as to the interior trim colour as when I looked in the web and did the build your own car the colour was black interior and I test drove one that was not an excel and that was black interior. I have since phoned the dealer and they have confirmed the interior is light grey.

The reason i did not call them before is I dont like talking on the phone to people as its very difficult and stressful for me hence asking and typing on the wobble web is much easier. As you may be able to tell I am not very good at describing things when I am typing them let alone when I am having to actually speak to people on the fly. My words that come out are not always in tune with what I am meaning and it can often offend people when that was not the intention.

Hence the trust my dealer bit. I trust them as salespeople and that if I ask a question that is within the power to answer they will answer it. Sorry this makes no sense I know.

Marvin, I know what you mean.  Dealers try and avoid answering emails or letters.  They usual ignore phone calls too.  The money is in the show room and your importance drops the moment you sign on the dotted line.

My first salesman just disappeared.   I trusted him but they said they didn't know where he went.

The second sold my second car and just disappeared.

The third actually delivered it, did really well and asked for 5*s.  He just disappeared.

The fourth came up with some fancy job title.   How long will he last?

Just a thought Marvin....is there anyone to help you....maybe take them along to do the nitty gritty with the dealer.  I know I have to have a strong cup of coffee...before the negotiations begin...and ...take in a print-out  of the best price on Carwow...so they can be every so helful and price match it.  🙂

My thoughts exactly.

I'm approaching this from a legal standpoint. Communication is incredibly important especially when dealing with sales folk. From a retail point of view, the best salesfolk are the most manipulative ones. They're like barristers, they're incredibly skilled at getting you to think and say what they want you to think and say.

Took time yesterday to look around the inside of my YC Excel.  The headline is a lighter grey rather than black.  The seats are a darker bluish grey.  The headrest and upper part of the back plus the seat squabs are identified as leather.

A very informative article on the Web helpfully described the process of the skin being reduced to a liquid and as little as possible being bonded to cloth to create leather cloth.

At least Triumph, many years ago,  were honest and trumpeted the Ambala seat cover as like leather.   It was ventilated and very comfortable.   No wear visible in 3 years.  It was also dressed with real wood door caps and dash board. Oh, and excellent carpet throughout.

I have since spoken to the dealer and they have confirmed it will be the MY24 model so the interior will be black. They explained the brochures are out of date and the website configuration is the more accurate one. They have also sent me an email to confirm this so I can rest easy.
