Number not contact name shown, incoming call

When I get an incoming call, I only see the number on the display, not the contact name. Knowing the contact name would help me decide if I want to take the call or not.

I looked through the phone settings and, to me, looked like it was all configured correctly.

Have you tried removing the +44 to 0, it seems to have worked for a few others.Have you recently had a software update. Did you receive caller id before you had problems. Hope this helps👍

Thanks for the replies.

I will check the country prefix tomorrow, I seem to recall that all calls on the screen are shown with the country code, but I'll recheck.

I don't know if I've ever had a software update, I've never seen anything of that nature on the screen (car connects to home WiFi when parked on my drive).

OK, I've looked at this today

I tested this with 1 contact, but the principal applies to all. All my contacts are not stored with the country code. If I call my phone (andriod 12) even though the contact is not stored with the country code the country code is displayed when the call is recieved.  There is a feature called assisted dialing (phone > 3dots > settings > assisted dialling) the narrative says "default home country automatically detected" regardless of this setting all incoming calls are prefixed with CC.

This suggests to me, that the issue I am seeing lies with the phone. 

Fyi the car settings are: menu > setup > phone > contacts/call history > automatic transfer = on

Have you tried another phone to confirm if it is the original that is at fault.🙂

I will try with another phone, thanks for that suggestion.

I will also take a look at the link supplied.

One forum suggested it might be a network provider setting, but after contacting them, they said it's a handset thing. 

 

Question: when the contacts sync, do I see this on the screen, e.g. a message?

The solution, in my case, was to reset to default the contacts/call history and resync contacts now incoming calls and texts are shown with name and number is preceeded with CC
