Yaris vs Aygo? Second hand, 10.000km a year, 2 + dog, 8-14k?

Hi all,

We are orienting ourselves for a second hand car. Price point would be anywhere between 8000 and 14000 euros. As we live in the city, we are required to store the car in a garage, which costs us 100 month. We wont drive a lot in the city however, so no need for a smaller vehicle for this reason.
I think the 10 year guarantee through an authorised toyota second hand dealer sounds interesting to us, as we have little car hardware knowledge.

Specs on our family:
- 2 people + 1 labrador
- Car mostly used in the weekend, during the week we use different mode of transport
- Car initially mostly used for 500km trips to our parents once a month, resulting in 8.000 to 10.000 km per year

Questions:
- What model / release year / mileage would be a good fit?
- Should we avoid considering second hand hybrids due to the car standing still potentially 5 or more days in a row?
