Evening all......a very valid point, final rejection a step further from eye watering premiums.

Clean licence, max n/c, 4k miles per year £1500 premium with LV.

Together with luxury road tax of approx. £500.

£2k per year or £40 per week without turning a wheel.

Here in the North West cover is still possible but boy are we paying the price.

Maybe manufacturers will eventually get involved & come up with a solution, particularly if the problem starts to impact on the sale of new cars.

I'm on my 5th RAV, such great motors, swapping for new every 2/3 years,

Seriously considering a carless future come autumn.

I'm dreading seeing my new car insurance premium in May. I just got my house/content's insurance and that's gone up from £276 to £627pa nothing's changed and no claims!

Wow! Are you in an area at risk of flooding? Presumably you are shopping for a better price?

No risks at all and nothing has changed. I’m looking to see if there alternatives next week. (Struggling to recover from Covid and still testing positive after two weeks so my head in not really in gear)

The wife was 'phoning around to get comparative quotes for our home insurance, only to be told by one insurer that they weren't able to quote because we were "in an area at risk of flooding".

We live on a little hill in Wales - about 150m above sea level. If flood waters were to reach us, most of the county of Shropshire would be under water ... 🤬

A few years ago when renewing our home insurance, the particular insurance company said all outside locks on my bi-fold doors must be to a certain British Standard. I told them that there are no locks/handles on the outside of the bi-fold doors and offered to send them a picture. No they wouldn't insure us because the non existent locks weren't to the required standard. You couldn't make it up!😖

Not seen this one since the 60s that I can remember:

Can't remember that one John, which one was it?

I do remember though "the car you always promised yourself".

Well, I did promise myself, but couldn't afford one until a decade later 😭

I had forgotten that one. I like the Vauxhall Cavalier and Roundheads advert along similar lines.
