autoglym glass polish is a good product so windscreen should be clean. Think you need new wipers.

Sounds like you need a "deep clean" of the windscreen.

1. Apply a strong degreaser. Something like this: https://www.car-chem.com/shop/total-clean. Beware this will strip any wax etc, on the paint so apply carefully and rinse thoroughly.

2. Bar Keepers Friend (BKF). https://www.therange.co.uk/household/cleaning/cleaning-products/multi-purpose-cleaners/powders-and-pastes/bar-keepers-friend-original-powder-250ml/#637251. The degreaser is alkaline. BKF is acidic so you're using a different chemical type to further clean off the muck. If you're old enough you might remember pink "Windowlene" and that's the sort of consistency of the paste you make up with it. You can get it ready mixed but that's just paying for someone else to put water in it. Apply in a circular motion, leave to dry and buff off. A little spritz of water helps if it's difficult to remove. Again rinse thoroughly as it won't do your wax any favours.

3. Finish with a "glass cleaner" - something like https://www.diy.com/departments/nilco-professional-reflective-surfaces-glass-cleaner-1l/1136760_BQ.prd.

Wiper blades will benefit from a clean too and may well need replacing if they are too contaminated and/or worn.

Let us know how you get on.

Good Luck.

Andy
