Hi all!
Just switched from 2005 Prius to 2014-2015 Auris Touring sports Hybrid. When I bought it from the dealer the salesman had no idea about it. But I saw a 12v plug(not the outlet) in the lower compartment of the trunk. It was just laying there. I am guessing its for powering something from the car but havent tried it to plugging to the outlet thats in the trunk. I was afraid of causing a damage if my guess is not correct :D. Unfortunately I dont have a picture of it at the hand now. Any idea?

P.S. The car has no trailer anchor. I live in the Netherlands by the way.

Thanks

I take it you mean it is a male, ie you would plug it into something.  Can you follow the wire?

What occurs to me as highly likely is a tyre inflator.   Do you have a spare tyre?

It might to some other add on such as the power lead to a rear camera now removed.

Thanks Roy for the input. Yes its a male one. The wire kinda goes to 'into' the rear bumper where other lights etc. are powered. But the tyre inflator is in the bottom of the trunk and if i remember correctly it has its own connector. But it has the rear camera and it works well already when reversing .

Mucahit,  I meant rear dash cam not reversing cam.

Do all rear lights work?

Are there any witness marks for a bracket or light clips?

Can you pull gently?  It is not attached it should come out.  Any resistance could be jammed or attached.

Maybe the guy wanted rear drl taillights and wired it up to the plug.

Either follow the wires or plug it in or chop and insulate wires, or tuck it hidden.
