Check engine light on, 1st thing is to check wiring, this one is in bad shape but I have no idea what it is. Any help identifying it is appreciated

Hi,

The first thing you want to do is find out what the Fault Code is from the Engine Check light.

If you have access to a proper OBD2 reader that makes it easy, otherwise follow one of the several ytubes on how to extract the code via the dashboard lights.

You can then cross reference the code or codes to the many online pages of error codes.
