Hi all,

Just purchased a low mileage 2013 Yaris 1.3L for my sister to help run my elderly parents around.

It’s a TR spec with no DAB or Sat Nav. Sat Nav we’re not too bothered about, but can head unit be upgraded for DAB? Understand there may be other components which may need swapping out, but is it worth the hassle?

Also, is there anything to look out for or check during handover from dealer? Picked up a couple of small issues so far, but nothing too serious. It’s done 49k, full dealer service history, one owner from new, just had a service and MoT.

Very clean car.

Thanks.

that is the Toyota Touch no dab, to upgrade it to a touch2 requires some rewiring (4 wires)

Thanks. Any further info? I do have a good level of vehicle repair experience, so could look at adding this myself.

What exactly do I need? Assume new head unit, DAB antenna and amplifier?

a touch2 gen 1 with surround or gen2 silver buttons, aftermarket dab aerial (SMB), or complete OEM roof aerial, that's about it

It depends on what plugs are behind the dash, if you have the 24 pin it is good to go, if it has the 16 pin for the camera its just a case of repinning 4 wires

Thanks Bob. Will have to price it up for her and see what she wants to do. Doesn’t appear to be too time-consuming or technical.
