PCP offer, status when “timed out”

Apologies if I’ve missed this elsewhere on the site.

I’m looking at the purchase of a Bz4x making use of the 0% PCP and £2000 deposit contribution. I have been advised there will be a three month wait for the car, but I note that this offer must be completed by the 1st July.

Quote

0% APR Representative and £2,000 Deposit Contribution only available on new retail orders of Toyota bZ4X between 17th January 2024 and 2nd April 2024 and registered and financed through Toyota Financial Services by 1st July 2024 on a 36 month Toyota Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) plan with 0%-35% deposit.

This leaves little room if the order is delayed. The salesman I spoke to wasn’t that helpful, I can’t find the T&C’s, and even the above quote is very “loose” in its wording. Note the “36 month” when you can choose 24 to 36.

If Toyota enforces these terms can you cancel without loss? Does anyone have experience of this, or any tips on where Toyota keep the T&C’s?

Thanks

To answer my own question, I have found the following post on on the Toyota magazine website.

Quote

Hi, I have been waiting 15 months on my Hilux and one of the deciding factors was because of the 0% interest PCP deal. So 3 weeks before my Hilux is due for delivery Toyota have cancelled the 0% DEAL and I have been told I’m being moved to 1.9% Apr. And more or less take or cancel the order. I felt sorry for the Sale Rep who is ringing telling their customers Very poor way to deal who have waited patiently.

While not written by Toyota I think it is in good faith. If the salesman will not honour the deposit contribution in the case of late delivery, I’d better think about other cars.

I had this on my last PCP swap.
whilst waiting for your new car delivery your existing pcp is locked. Effectively you continue with your monthly payments at the current level until the new contract is signed on delivery. Your dealer will calculate the differences. Ask them if they will honour the residual value or greater if recalculated due to a toyota delay. I was lucky that the 6 extra months ( on top of a years wait ) where my pcp was up  the second hand market went crazy and the residual value increased . The extra payments also reduced the “remaining finance” portion

the deal offer was honoured.

i guess its a dealer by dealer choice (mainly if they dont want to lose the sale because the customer cancels due to a deal break )

hope that helps

When my new C-HR arrived, my Dealer honoured the original part exchange value, and the finance deal we had agreed.
