Goodbye Auris - Drunk Driver Writes Off Car

Hi my 2014 Auris which only did 35000 has now been written off as its uneconomical to repair. The car had full toyota history and only went into Toyota garages for its service and repairs. But this week they said it would cost over 10,000 to repair the car as the rear axel had been broken off. If it wasn't to do with that then it would have cost 5,000 to repair. Luckily we bought the car for 8,000 and we got 8,715 from our insurance company.

I will miss the car very much....

Hi Fahad, its no consultation but at least you wasn't Injured by this drunk driver. The cost of these these repairs really are horrendous these days.

Years ago you would have had It repaired and back on the road for a fraction of the price. Have you decided on a replacement car.

Sadly, I think even a £5000 repair bill would have sealed its fate for the insurance company.

Hope you don’t have too much trouble finding a replacement. My car is the same age and I have no desire to replace it. I dread something like this happening that’s beyond your control, no matter how well you’ve looked after it,

For a car that’s often criticised for being terminally boring, it seems to generate a lot of fondness in its owners.

Cant see how its “terminally boring” Auris was just the rename for Europe for the Corolla. And that is not boring.

Boring if you’re one of the boy racers who writes for motoring magazines! I’ve long since learned not to pay much attention to them.
