About to collect a '21 YC Excel after trading in my Auris.  I have a couple of questions I hope you can help me with.

Where is the 12v Battery located please?

And is it an AGM Battery

I'm sure there will be further queries, but once I get my hands on the handbook, they may be answered.

Cheers folks, Trev.

The 12v Battery is located under the backseat, simply tug up the seat cushion, and all will be revealed.  🙂

Well done and good choices for replacement of the Auris.
I will leave more thorough answers for the Battery question to the cross owners, as far as I know the 12v Battery is located under the rear seat next to the high voltage Battery, non AGM battery.
Once you have the car will appreciate some comparison between Auris and Yaris cross.
Enjoy your new car.

Top tip posted by another forum member which saved me time:-

When removing the plastic panel on the front of the seat to get at the Battery, it has a couple of black plastic rivets which need to be removed. Push the centre of each rivet in with a small screwdriver and then prise them out. When refitting them push the centre of the other end of the rivet out so it's proud, push the whole rivet back in and then poke the centre flush.

Ps Halfords stock the plastic rivets.

Well folks, took delivery today, and the 30 mile drive home proved I made a good decision, I love it.

As I want to add a charger flylead to the 12v Battery, using Chas G's top tip, I gained access to the Battery.  Problem is I need to remove the red plastic cover over the positive terminal so I can attach the flylead.  Is there a trick to getting it off please?

Also, as there is only one usb port, can I add a 1 into 2  usb splitter so I can attach my phone and a usb stick with all my music on?

Many thanks,

Cheers,Trev.

Sorry cannot comment on the Battery cover, but a few others are experts in taking the car apart 😆.

The question of the single USB port has been asked before and the forum opinion is, if you have the Smart Connect media system (9" screen and no dials) then only one connection can be made as the phone connection with Apple Play or Android Auto use a are the USB bandwith.

If you have Smart Connect then it should support a wireless phone connection, leaving the USB slot for a USB stick.

Put the music on your phone and then you will only need one USB connector. My 2021 the blue tooth music from my phone is quiet but connected via USB is much better.
