Space saver wheel & tyre for GR86

My dealer says that Toyota do not supply one, so just wondering if anyone has sourced a space saver wheel and a tyre for a GT86?

I see that thewheelshop sells one for the GT86 but the GR86 is not included in their list of Toyota cars, anyone know if it will fit the GR86?

The title should read GR86 🙄

The GR86 shares the same platform as the GT86 with some minor modifications so they should fit:smile:

The callipers may be different though, and if they were the same then Toyota would sell the space saver for the GR86 too, ie that is assuming that they make one for the GT86!

Your right while the core platform is the same, there could be variations in braking components. Different sized calipers might require a specific space saver design to ensure proper clearance. This could explain why Toyota might not offer a universal space saver for both cars.

Even if thewheelshop didn't explicitly list the GR86, it's still worth contacting them. Explain your concern about potential caliper clearance differences and ask if they can verify fitment for the GR86 based on the car's specifications.

Hi you might want to check out this UK based forum for specific  GR content..the subject of available  space savers for the GR has many solutions.

As has the subject of available  mudflaps too.

I went for a set of FX3D Design  in Canada which cost me £77 including  post and came within 10 days.. Well recommended.

The traffic on this model is very slow on these pages.

Yeah, thanks, I read those threads on there, but couldn’t be bothered to risk for example buying a second hand Subaru wheel etc, AND then hope that they fit, so decided to buy a new Road Hero, it’s £250 but comes in a bad and a bag of tools etc.

I found this video on how to fit the Toyota mud flaps on there too:-

Although Toyota don’t sell a space saver they do sell a screw device and disc to hold the Road Hero space saver in place, see diagram that the dealer gave me. The part number on the bill for the disc was TSU003-03404 and is described as “N/STOCK SUPPORT”, which does not bear any obvious relation to the identity on the diagram.  I can’t find the bill for the screw device, but it was just a couple of quid.

Note, the jack that comes with the Road Hero should not be used on the GR86 cill as it looks like it would probably damage the inner cill, you can buy a jack from Toyota which is fine.
