Addressing Engine Power Cut-off and Throttle Issues in Aygo:

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hello! Occasionally, I encounter an issue with my Aygo where the engine power is cut off and the throttle doesn't respond, despite pressing the pedal. When I check the OBD II system, I receive an error related to oxygen sensors in Bank 1, specifically sensors 1 and 2. This problem worsens when the fuel level is low, and it can be particularly challenging to maneuver in the city as the throttle cuts off immediately upon starting. I'm curious if there's a solution I can implement to fix it on my own.

You need to change the sensor.  You can clear the fault and the car may then use default settings but it won't run right.

Could you kindly specify if the sensor is the lambda sensor you're referring to?

The Oxy sensor is a common problem (The lower one as in the picture)

Ignore it, it is not a code it is just a random test, same issue on both sensors also be aware it's also a calculate value !! As its app based, take it with a large handful of salt

What is the mileage, pull the spark plugs and post a picture of the tips/gaps

The milage is ~139KM and it's 11/2005 model. I can send the picture of gaps of the spark plugs in the following days

There is a chance that you have adulterated fuel in the tank for this problem is greater when the level is low. Petrol additives may help. I use Redex and Liqui Moly products.

Thank you for your comment.  Do you mean Catalytic-System Cleaner?
