I know I can find the info on a Ford Ka or Fiat forum but I'm a bit lazy to go and join that ... And don't think I really need it either.

Did anybody here get experience with the Fiat 1,2 engine or Ford Ka mark2 ?
I bought a second hand one for my wife cause we both liked the model.

Fiat isn't the biggest reason to celebrate I guess but what I know about them, the engines are the least thing to worry about.

Any ideas or experiences are welcome.

I don't own one but I have a mate that does. I don't know if its down to the driver but for what it is it feels very quick. The gearbox seems to be holding up to his abuse so far and he's had it for about a year. The engine however did misfire a few times, but change the spark plugs out and it runs fine again. 1.2 Fiat engine doesn't have any major problems from what I know but as long as its been well looked after and not thrashed like my mate has done, you should be fine. Its a simple car

Extremely easy to steal due to the Fiat immobiliser system & front wishbones expensive to replace due to the amount of labour involved.

Lads at my local garage always insist on doing them in pairs on these 500 / Ka due to the amount of labour involved just to change just one side.

Not the sort of car that is nice to drive with size 13 feet. My father has one and when I drive it I've caught the edge of the brake pedal while using the clutch on more than one occasion.

It certainly tests the reflexes of the driver behind me.

Thanks guys. Interesting to know your opinions on the car but my family member already bought it... and due to circumstances will sell it again soon.
