Looking to buy a high mileage ex taxi

Just signed up to the forum to get some advice on a car in interested in. It's very high mileage but the price reflects that.

It's an Avensis but rather than discuss it here I'll head over to the right part of the forum 🙂

Welcome to our forum.

I known many Toyota cars in the past with high mileage, specially the import ones, I heard this from the peach and lemon forum years ago, as well as from the Autotrader owners comments.

I owned many Japanese mainly imports, with 100k and well over, they keep going...

Few things to look at for this avensis :

Test drive it, feel the gearbox !

If it has Cambelt, when this was replaced?

If it's chain, then i was told it last much longer

finally with high mileage must come the full service specially if it's a diesel car, if not you may negotiate the price to keep some money to fix the car just in case ???
