How to permanently disable LDA?

Well on 2019 model it's a single dedicated button on the steering wheel to turn it off, and once turned off it stays off until you turn it on again. So turn it off, forget it exists, and keep your nice car for as long as possible because your next car will force all sorts of annoying features on you!

Maybe interesting to know from with month and year the new safety measures where installed in the Corolla. Is that from 01-24 or sooner?

I believe it's the 2024 update model year, so some could have come through before as they are released beforehand.

Mine was registered November 23 so I was lucky to miss out on the 24 update as I didn't know about it.

My 2019 Corolla system works okay on motorways & dual carriage ways but is just a nuisance on A roads as the constant beeping gets on my wick.

At the end of the day, it’s just an aid but you still have to stay alert!

Deafness has a benefit.  I don't need JBL and I can mentally switch off the beeps,  bips and burps.

IMBW but I don't think that the "beeps, bips and burps" get to the Speakers via the head unit... (meaning that turning it off won't suppress them)

My Aygo X Has lane departure assist but I disable it every time I start up (thankfully I can just hold the button on the wheel for a few seconds) - I also find it if anything unsafe in all honesty, but so be it - I think they're going to be more prevalent and harder to disable as time goes on...

I would like to turn off LDA once and for all.

LDA falsely triggers on snowplough furrows, and snatches at the steering causing alarm to the driver and has twice caused the car to skid  momentarily.

I think LDA might be hazardous in ice as well - so far I have always remembered to turn it off.

hi Sam & welcome to TOC.

If you have a MY24 or later you won't be able to, it is legally mandated.

Have you had snow already in Sunderland that your MY25 has encountered snow plough furrows so soon?
