Differences between T27 mk3 before and after facelift

Hello, I'm considering buying a second-hand Avensis, more specifically, I have chosen the T27 1.8 CVT Wagon.

But I can't choose between the pre-facelift models from 2009-2011 and the post-facelift models from 2012-2015.

The facelifted models are more expensive and better looking, with new headlights and bumpers, but I can't find any information about whether there are any changes under the hood. I know the engine is the same and the interior hasn't changed much, except for the multimedia system, but I assume I can install an aftermarket Android multimedia system. Can someone more familiar with these two variants of the Avensis comment on whether there are more significant differences under the hood than just the visual ones?

The engine seems to be the same but the valvematic actuator should be better already in 2012 models (at least Mr T has tried to improve it, I think).

There are differences in the rear suspension, maybe in the front too? I only have experience from the rear suspension so far...

One thing about the "interior": in older models, the steering shaft might start to clunk, but as far as I know, the facelift doesn't have that problem anymore...

I think I've read that alternator is better in facelift. Pre-facelift alternators have been little problematic (mine worn out at 130k kilometers).

And if I remember right ECU is somehow little different.

The differences apart from the obvious facelift, is the slight spec improvement to the models. The biggest difference is the EPB (electronic parking brake) get full auto release and engage. The early EPB like in my car (manual) only has auto release. I think the emissions were slightly improved too. There was a period 2010-2011 with the odd Valvematic controller problem, but that is rare. You just need to find the a good example.
