I purchased our IQ a year ago from sadly a less than respectable dealer in Morcombe who offered delivery as we are based in Surrey it made sense.  Having spent a whole year steadily replacing and repairing parts it became apparent that I had some kind of Oxygen Sensor and Catalytic Convertor issue eventually giving frequent P0420 error codes along with poor running issues especially from take off.  Both sensors were replaced new plugs Coils filers did improve the performance but the errors kept coming with periods of running like there was no issue until the error re appeared usually with a noticeable loss of power.  Having passed it's MOT but with a advisory of a leaky exhaust which had pin hole leaks the garage put some exhaust putty to seal for now.  I have now replaced the exhaust from the bottom cat to the tail & I can confirm it has made a difference so far no engine light but I not convinced the problem has completely gone away but it's progress.  I have purchased a CAT with the updated EGR pipe change basically the new CAT has the pipe coming from the other end of the CAT  as mentioned on forums before the original CAT had a tendency to easily soot up the EDR valve I have been quoted 2 Hours labour at G Force Aldershot.  I also discovered another cause for potential issues is not tightening the fuel cap enough this is not the cause of any errors but may impact smooth running.

Sorry to hear all the problems you've been having.

But even the newest IQ are over 10 years old so you'll have to expect problems.

I purchased an 1l 2009 IQ in 2019 and every year I had to replace something from clutch, exhaust, springs, drop links etc...
