Adding a front camera

I am in the process of adding a front camera to my car (Yaris hybrid MK4) probably right under the front emblem.

I have most of the parts gathered or on the way from China.

I'm trying to figure out a way to do it with minimal alterations to cars wiring and as "factory like " as possible.

Thank God there are in this forum people like @flash22 that spread their knowledge.

Thanks to him I've found the adapter harness needed and many more information.

He has even offered to draw a simple diagram for me to simplify the required actions.

I'll try my best to document the installation process and the required parts to help for anyone else who might want to do it.

so what do we have parts-wise?

and you want to a switch between the 2

does giving the reverse signal 12v activate the camera?

I do have an MM17 for bench testing and playing with, just need a composite device of some sort

Does it make sense to add camera where the wipers cannot clear the lens during rainfall?

I haven't tempered with the electronics yet, so I don't know if giving 12v are activating the camera and or the screen.

Part wise,

I have 2 cameras (a generic one and one that can be front or back and mirrored imaged depending on some wires you cut)

Also a camera signal adaptor of sorts, it receives 2 signals front and back and it displays either one by pressing a button it has.

On its way from China is the 30pin adaptor for adding the cam signal through the provided RCA..

Haven't bought a relay yet since I don't know if it's needed due to the previously mentioned front rear selector device. This one

Pardon my ignorance Jim but would the camera be used as a Dashcam and continually recording or more like a reversing camera to assist with parking etc ?

More as an assistant in tight parking spaces.

I'm not sure what you mean.

Could you please explain as if I was a 5 year old?

I'm not that tech savvy and don't want to make a mistake.
