Also. What needs to be configured where to let the computer know the new size?

Thank you.

I believe the speedometer already includes an allowance to cover any size of standard wheels that can be fitted.

My Corolla reads 74mph at a genuine 70mph on 16" wheels, my Auris used to read 77mph at a genuine 70mph on 17" wheels.

That should cover any difference in wheel size before you are undereading the actual speed.

Hello Michael, I'm taking it you are talking about Corolla Icon Tech, mentioned in your profile. You can't really fit bigger wheels. The steering and suspension components on your Icon Tech, are designed only to accommodate / work with its standard wheels ( 16 inch).

I have seen already few icon Corolla with 18 excel wheels fitted. It’s not a problem and the suspension is the same , the steering rack has different ratio but this will nut be a problem either. The brakes are slightly smaller but again not an issue.

There you go Michael, it is in fact do -able, I'm happy to be corrected. Crack on with your new wheels and enjoy your Corolla 😀👍

The main thing you need to recalibrate when fitting 18" C-HR wheels is the size of your wallet! My wife's C-HR with 18" wheels is going to need 4 new tyres in the next few months. Tyres in this size start at about £100 each for cheapo unknown brand budgets, and get dangerously close to £200 each for Michelin Crossclimates. I wonder if I could get away with fitting 16" Corolla wheels to her C-HR 😉 I doubt she would ever notice..

I think he will be unpleasantly surprised how worse his car becomes and how much more road noise and bumps can be felt. On top of the wallet thing. 👍

As long as you keep the overall wheel size the same, the rim size doesn't matter, e.g. I had 17" rims which used 205/45r17 tyres, but went to 15" rims - To maintain the speedo accuracy, these needed 185/65r15 tyres - i.e. the sidewalls (middle number) were bigger to keep the same wheel size.

You'll probably need slightly wider and lower profile tyres if you're going to 18" rims - See if the manual lists recommended tyre sizes for 18" rims, but if not you can use e.g. https://tiresize.com/comparison/ to figure out the closest tyre size you can use.
