I want to fit a Roof Rack to my Rav4 PHEV and am looking at a Front Runner Slimsport from 4x4 Works.

https://www.4x4works.co.uk/models/toyota/rav4/xa50-2018-on/

Does anybody have experience of fitting one of these to their Rav. It needs a little drilling and the headlining dropping which does concern me, especially as it can carry a lightbar which would also need connecting. I have my doubts the dealership could / would do it and I don't want to invalidate the vehicle warranty.

That aside, and this coming from someone who was an "Industry Influencer" back in the day, what a fantastic vehicle.

I wouldn’t go anywhere near anything that requires drilling into the bodywork. Potential to open a can of worms in so many ways. They look more like something the American modders fit to their RAV’s. Why can’t you just use roof bars on the roof rails?

I doubt your dealer would fit this, not when it needs drilling, that would invalidate the warranty.

Any reason why you're not considering the associated model that explicitly says no drilling required? - https://www.4x4works.co.uk/product/toyota-rav4-2019-current-slimline-ii-roof-rack-kit/

I appreciate that it is £140 more expensive, and forgive me for making an assumption but if you're driving a £~45k vehicle and considering purchasing a rack costing £800 (before installation cost, or before anything to mount on it), then one would be reasonable in making the assumption that it is not beyond your available budget to consider the extra £140 for the model that is actually suitable for your needs?

DOI - I have no prior specialist knowledge about offroading roof cage equipment of this type. I'm only going off the info from the link you provided
