Yes :(. £300 ISH to spray it. 

Then I remembered aluminium doesn't rust so I thought why bother.

While aluminium does corrode, I wouldn't bother unless it is very unsightly. My 35 year old mx5 has a pretty pitted aluminium bonnet but there is no major corrosion.
