Generic Battery Drain Flaw?

Does Toyota have  a generic Battery drain flaw?

I have a RAV-4 plugin  hybrid and a Prius hybrid. On separate occasions (months apart) I've gone to use the cars in the morning only to be confronted with  completely flat batteries. Toyota roadside service got both cars going but there was no apparent reason for the batteries to drain flat. I attached my Battery charger to the Prius and the indicator lights showed normal charge. When I checked after an hour the charger was dead. The mains fuse had blown but the serge also blow the internal circuits. I don't believe in coincidences. As the Prius has no alternator the Battery is charged via the HV traction battery pack. Is there a design flaw possibly in the software?

Anyone else experienced sudden unexplained battery issues?

How often are your Prius and RAV-4 driven?  How many miles/minutes per day and how many days per week for each?

Both cars are regularly driven. At least 5 days a week. Distance can very but I would say Enough to keep the batteries charged. The driving patterns have not changed.  Its over 4 months since the RAV-4 had a catastrophic 12v failure.

As far as the RAV, that takes it to mid-winter.

Regarding 'enough' would you care to quantify that.  Some recent monitoring I have just done showed no beneficial charge over an hour or so where the car had had 3 or 4 cycles.

Possible bad batteries, either faulty manufacture or drained completely few times and beyond save. I left my old Auris hybrid for 10 days without any use and then I had no problems to start.
