Hi Stephen, the process of a forced regeneration typically involves the following steps.

Diagnostic Check, the technician connects a diagnostic scan tool Techstream or other capable tool to the vehicle's onboard diagnostic (OBD) system to check for any fault codes related to the DPF or exhaust system.

Preparation, ensure the vehicle is parked in a well ventilated area, preferably outdoors, as the regeneration process can generate high temperatures and exhaust gases.

Initialisation,Using the diagnostic tool, the technician initiates the forced regeneration procedure. This prompts the engine management system to adjust fuel injection timing and exhaust temperatures to raise the temperature of the DPF to a level where accumulated soot can be burned off.

Monitoring, during the regeneration process, the technician monitors various engine parameters, such as exhaust gas temperature and pressure, to ensure the regeneration is proceeding correctly and safely.

Completion, once the regeneration process is complete, the technician verifies that the DPF has been effectively cleaned and that there are no remaining fault codes.

Test Drive, a short test drive may be conducted to ensure the vehicle is performing correctly and that the regeneration process was successful.

Documentation,The details of the forced regeneration, including any fault codes found and actions taken, are typically documented for record keeping purposes.

It's important to note that forced regeneration should only be performed by qualified technicians familiar with the specific procedures and safety precautions for your vehicle model. Attempting to perform regeneration procedures without the necessary expertise and equipment can result in damage to the vehicle or personal injury.Hope this helps.
