Returning after a few years driving two nissans.

Was a member years ago when I had an avensis. Before that I had an avensis. A previa, and an LS400.

Since I persuaded my daughter to get her first car (a Yaris), and when my primera P12 went to the rust bucket in the sky I was without a car for a while (motorbikes com in handy), before finally finding a car. Another Avensis :)

Glad to be back in the fold.

@Roy124 was hoping for a comparison... so... @Roy124 just to be clear, was it between motorbike and car or between car (an avensis) and car (Another avensis)..? 🤭 😜

Yes, motorbikes come in handy alright.

Back when I could still ride,a very nice Dutch Avon lady scraped my grandad wagon pug partner with her heavy Dutch push bike while parked on the road, it was still newish then so needed body work.

She was so honest, bless her, she knocked on the door to apologise and put it right.

I tried hard to explain that I would get it fixed as reasonably as possible, but she insisted on going through her insurance (house hold I assume,as no requirement on push bikes)

Anyhoo, what a palaver, her insurance company wanted it fixed at an "approved" body shop, so out of ignorance at the time, went along with it.

After refusing all attempts at persuading me to have a "courtesy" car ,aka inflate the cost, and keep the car for weeks for a 2 hour job.

I went to pick up the car, and the "approved" national repair shop inform me that, yes if you'll just pay an unexplained fee of £340 and reclaim it,you can get your car.

This is where a motor bike comes in handy,it was the middle of summer, so no need for my car at that time, so I told them to keep the car until they could sort out their business, no problem, I will use my bike.

Phone was ringing in two hours, your car is ready, no fee.

Now if these shysters had just a shred of honesty, they would just put on suitable gear and threaten me with a penknife on a deserted industrial estate to extract money .

Oh and sorry about my story, and welcome back to the club 😄.
