Hello all,

I have bought a aftermarket radio for my Toyota Aygo and am trying to install it now. My Aygo comes stock with a so called Quadlock connector and my new radio comes with a 16 pin. To use the radio I have to use two adapters which both seem to work. To start off I tested the constant 12v, ACC wire and ground with a multimeter, all work according.

Now when I try to power the radio it won’t turn on. I have tested the radio in a friend’s car and it works perfect so it can’t be the radio or the fuse that’s blown.

On the picture you can see the bottom left 8pin connector has a blue 12v, white ACC, brown (ground?), white/black (ground?)

The only suspicious things I find are that the ACC is at 10v and both the brown and white/black seem to work as ground.

Is anyone able to help me out? Thanks in advance.

Hey,

I abandoned the project for a bit because I got fed up with it but am back to give it another try, so I only saw your comment just now.

https://www.autosound24.nl/audiodetail-tak-004.htm This is the adapter I'm using.

I tried the head unit (without the quadlock adapter) in an older Land Rover Defender to verify it works.

My Aygo is a 2012

What do you mean by diag connected to DLC3?

Also should I wire the pin 17 from the white block directly to the ACC wire from the head unit wire?

The oem radio uses the white wire for programming

you can check pin 17 (gray) with a meter, it will give you 12v with the ignition on

the lead you have in that link is a sot cable what is not correct, on the adapter you have a loose wire where does it go to?

So can I use it to bridge to the ACC wire of the harness? I don't know what a programming wire is supposed to do.

What cable should I get instead then?

By loose cable do you mean the brown cable in the link I sent you? It connects to a blank slot on the cars Quadlock connector.

leave that white wire alone

let's start again - you can use that sot lead

can you post a pics of the lead you have and where that brown wire goes on the quad lock

Top left is a gray cable.

lets simplify things - cut the lead in half

so it's the yellow or red that is not getting power from the quadlock

They both get power from the quadlock.

Yellow = constant 12v

Red = switched 12v For some reason when testing it with my multimeter it only gave 10v, with the engine running.

cut the red wire at the quadlock adapter you can wire that to pin 17 (grey wire) on the white block
