Emergency Crashed My Car

Hi guys, I crashed my pride and joy (corolla gti 1990) last night. It was raining last night at 12 and I was on my home, the traffic light just turned red put my brakes on and they locked up and the car aqua-planed straight in to a lamppost. Thank god my mates and me were ok the whole thing just **** me up big time.

Luckily the car was still running and got home safely and parked on the driveway. After inspecting the damage this morning found out I need:

BONNET

FRONT BUMPER

N/S HEADLIGHT.

That's all that I can see that's damage will let u know if anything needs replacing.

Amazed that car still drove and all lights were still working, and no leaks from the radiator or engine,

SO PLEASE IF U GUYS HAVE THE ABOVE-MENTIONED PARTS, I AM WILLING TO BUY THEM OFF YA.

Sorry to hear that mate. I stacked mine into a tree in January. My bonnet, bumper, N/S wing mirror and N/S headlight were either bent, lopsided or broken.

I managed to fix the bumper myself. It turned out that te bumper was fine. It was the bumper fixings that were bent. I managed to straighten them out in the end using a G clamp and two pieces of flat metal. The bumper sits like it always did now.

How bad is the bonnet? Have you bent its back? If so, a bit of elbow grease and some pulling and pushing should flatten it down like new again. If it's all dented etc then it's had it!

I managed to get the wing mirror and head light for a tenner each of someone scrapping his red GTI, and I fixed the rest myself.

Check eBay for any parts you'll need. Someone got an Evo style Rolla GTI bonnet from there a few months ago for about £50 and it was in mint condition. Alternativly, let me know if you want rid of her. I'll give you a good price.

Been working on the car all day, both the wings r fine, took me ages to get the bumper off as the car was hit just to the n/s middle of the bumper the rest of the bumper is ok. will have to get a new bonnet, headlamp, and bonnet defo apart from that everything is ok. the car still starts. The only problem is the car will have to go in a bodyshop the front plate which houses the radiator, horn and a small radiator, so hopefully looking to get a jig or somewhat to sraigthten it out. Is this part of the body or can it be taken off and a new/secondhand one put on it.

Looking at Fensport and findit for parts. IT CAN BE DONE, IT CAN BE DONE

p.s Put my number in thinking so one could ring if they had parts, If any dumb****** starts giving me funny calls not ubikd second line anyway, their bill they r wasting thanks for the advice anyway.

Sorry Toymota no way am I selling, the only way if I can't get it back on the road. but try my damn hardest, This car was mint pre accident No rust on all 4 arches at all FSH timing belt and others were done by TOYOTA including brake fluid change, 2 owners before me and they were a doctor and oap never been driving hard engine bay still immaculate Interior is spotless.

Plus the fact since I have had the car spent alot on it. Thanks anyway.

P.s My Cars colour is black but compared to other black AE92'S it is more shinny really sparkles when light hits it did they have Two types of black paint, or is my custom paint by either the Oap/Doctor?

Sorry, about your accident, just wanted to add that I had a similar situation last night, was on the country roads at 11pm, raining as well, tight bend came up, with no warning signs to slow down, I did anyway and slowed down to 40, then immediately came up to a T junction. Brakes locked, then I started pumping the brakes, every time I pumped them the brakes locked repeatedly. Luckily I managed to slow down to about 25 mph and made a sharp right turn. Luckily there wasnt any other cars on the road, so nothing happened, but I did have a car full of passengers.

Had a close one the other day. Was rainin at bout midnight and Im doing about 50 coming up to a roundabout. I start to brake, hit a puddle and started to aquaplane. I started pumping the brake and I pulled up the handbrake. Stopped just in time!

Hope you get the car sorted m8! I crashed my mint civic when I had it. It hurts.

ME AND MY Friends had a lucky escape last night, it could have been much worser, but what has happened has happened so can't change what happened last night.

For the price of the parts from fensport

Bonnet £80

Bumper £70

N/S headlamp £50(the price for O/S)

Which comes to a grand total of £200 plus VAT

But I have just found a 1.3 gl 3 door for 250 in red will these parts fit my gti and which would be the better option fensport/corolla I think the car has rust but I only need the above mentioned items plus we can haggle.

yes the parts from a 1.3 will fit your rolla, ive got one and trying to get the skirts and spoiler off a gti cos they fit.

Picked up a red 1.3 gl corolla 3 door on Friday night for £100. taxed and mot'd on top of world :P :P :P

got all the parts that I just need to swap parts of and respray just taking my time now, Thanks for the advice Viperce(Chris)

The car runs like a dream 124K (recon engine fitted 15k ago) front wings and rear sills rusted but paid for what I got. Origianl radio/cass original toolkit, and original wheel trims last 7 mot certificates plus a few invoices perfect little runabout till my mighty twinny is back on the road. The couple wanted £250 but paid £100 with half a tank of petrol and only 4 miles from where I live :)

P.s Was in Bradford tonight counted 12 twinny's (4 ae82's an 8 ae92's) definantley the capital of twincams. :) :)

Good evening people

The twinny is back on the road fully repaired plus it passed an mot test on Thursday only 2 problems

Rear number plate lights not working(cost me 50p to put right)

Rear brake driver side ceased up could of explain the crash but weather conditions were ****.

Apart from that everything else was sweet and the body shop done a good job on the car.

My runabout 1.3 corolla also had an mot failed on the front arches cause of rust, but by next week will sorted and I hope a little profit shopuld be on the way
